Side Firing Light Distributor

The Side Firing Light Distributor, model FD1-SF2, is a sterile, 4-meter long fiber optic catheter designed to guide the light from a laser source to the patient, where the light is emitted perpendicularly to the catheter axis. The distal optical tip is positioned at a specified distance from the target area of the tissue, creating a circular spot of light at the surface of the tissue. Since the spot diameter varies as a function of the distance between the distal end of the device and the tissue, it can be adjusted to fit the tissue area to be treated. The small 2.5 mm overall diameter of the device allows endoscopic use through the working channel of standard flexible endoscopes.

The Side Firing Light Distributor is intended for single use, and only in conjunction with laser light from compatible lasers during Photodynamic Therapy (PDT).
